I love music nearly as much as I love fashion and I really have some mysterious ability of coming up with lyrics of some song, whatever the word you tell me. Autumn Leaves is one of my favourites songs to listen to in the evening be it summer or winter, or, of course, Autumn.
Being a typical human being, I also love to complain when it’s too hot, too cold, too rainy or whatever it is too. On this occasion, I once again will complain that it’s too hot and I cannot wait for the Indian Summer, when it’s still sunny and beautiful, yet you can wear a turtle neck, a blazer or a cosy knit, plus you can wear boots cause your feet are nowhere near as swollen as it was during the hot summer days…
Colder weather means darker colour palettes but fear not, you can always keep it fresh with a pop of white as a reference to the summer just gone (even though I wouldn’t recommend doing it during the rainy weather – the world is not perfect). My favourite colours for early autumn are mustard yellow, burgundy, navy, khaki, grey and black. The hilarious thing is that I always end up wearing black, cause black is just the best colour in general.
Another great thing is layers layers and once again layers. Tshirt + shirt + knit + blazer + big fluffy scarf, sounds as good as a four meal dinner course. The effect is pretty similar too, once you’re done with the dinner you can hardly move, and yes you got it right, once you’re done with layers… on the other hand, you can go a whole day without feeling too cold in the morning and too hot during the day – take two layers off and you’re back to the summer jam.
And the cherry on the top for early Autumn dressing is… accessories! Wool fedoras, big scarf and woollen knee length socks are nowhere near the front of the wardrobe in the summer. I could possibly wear a hat or a scarf if it’s really cold but I prefer to go without these, since I’m pretty accessory-less. Woollen socks, however, is definitely the thing I would love to try and wear, but knowing me, I’ll just silently admire the girls embracing it and save the pictures on Pinterest 🙂
